Palm Trees and Power Lines (2023)

A teenager named Lea (Lily McInerny) is spending the summer between her junior and senior year of high school watching makeup tutorials on Youtube, spending nights out drinking, smoking pot, and scrolling social media with friends while her mom (Gretchen Mol) has guys over, and just generally tries to appear older than she is. 34-year-old Tom (Jonathan Tucker) sees her at a restaurant and offers her a ride after her friends dine-and-dash and thus begins the all-too-familiar creepy and manipulative grooming relationship of which the young Lea seems to unfortunately miss every sign until it’s too late. Lily strips down to her undies in her first ever film role, while her friends played by Quinn Frankel and Lily Collias are seen in skimpy bikinis during separate scenes. There’s even a brief look at Gretchen in her bra as she puts on make-up and dresses for the day that’ll have you packing your palm!
