True Things (2022)

The notion of toxicity in a relationship has gotten a lot of attention in art lately and True Things (2022) is the latest work of fiction to examine this phenomenon. Ruth Wilson stars as Kate, a woman whose personal life is more or less in ruins and whose professional life as a benefits worker in the UK is similarly on the brink of collapse. That all changes when she meets an unnamed man she calls Blond (Tom Burke) at her job and quickly falls into a relationship with him despite knowing quite literally nothing about him. As he begins manipulating her and she—willingly or unwillingly—falls into his many emotional traps, everyone in her life tells her to dump him, but she just doesn't know how to quit this guy. In a series of scenes throughout the film we get some nice looks at Ruth Wilson's boobs and buns, though almost every time it's a fleeting glimpse. Thank goodness Mr. Skin is here to slow things down and capture them in stills, and that's about as True a Thing as one can get!
