The Affair (2019)

Completely unrelated to the long-running series of the same name, the Czech film The Affair (2019) is based on the best selling 2009 novel "The Glass Room," and set in the lead-up to World War II. Jewish girl Liesel (Hanna Alström) is newly married to the wealthy Viktor Landauer (Claes Bang), whose family commissions famous architect Rainer von Abt to build them a one of a kind dream home in the Czechoslovakian countryside. The central design motif appears to be glass, as nearly every room is encircled by windows and glass panels, leaving its occupants very little privacy from the outside world. As WWII begins to look more and more like an inevitability, Liesel becomes worried that her heritage may pose a problem for her and she begins looking to protect her best friend from childhood Hana (Carice van Houten) from that same issue, inviting her to come and live with them. Hana moves to the estate with her husband and things begin to look up for both Liesel and Hana as the remoteness of the villa provides them with a shelter from the coming war. However, the two appear to be much more than just close friends and their relationship may prove to be the thing that dooms them once and for all. While there are some steamy sapphic makeout sessions with Carice van Houten and Hanna Alström, the latter is the only one who goes nude and it's during a sex scene with her husband. We get a brief look at Hanna's left breast while banging Claes Bang, making this an Affair to re-MAM-ber!
