Scream 3 (2000)

After rushing Scream 2 (1997) into production, director Wes Craven and screenwriter Ehren Kruger—replacing original scribe Kevin Williamson—took a bit more time getting Scream 3 (2000) into theaters. The meta-horror franchise seemingly came to a close with this entry—though a belated 2011 fourth film rebooted things—where heroine Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) goes into seclusion following the many attempts on her life in the first two films. However, she is drawn back into another mystery when the cast of the new "film within the film" Stab 3 begins getting murdered by a new Ghostface killer. The cold open of the film finds Liev Schreiber's Cotton Weary being shaken down for information on Sidney's whereabouts and both he and his girlfriend Christine (Kelly Rutherford) are murdered—though not before we get a brief glimpse of her bare ass in a very steamy shower! The film then proceeds to go through the motions of your typical horror sequel as the suspects pile up—and are eventually eliminated—just as quickly as the victims of the murderer pile up. Returning characters like Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Officer Dewey (David Arquette) are both on hand to serve as red herrings for the real murderer and the whole thing wraps up in a pretty lackluster and dissatisfying manner that led a lot of fans to dub it the worst film in the series. Apart from the aforementioned brief shower buns, some braless pokies courtesy of Parker Posey, and some boffo cleavage from Jenny McCarthy, this Scream flick is just as a nudity-free as the rest!
