Promised Land (2022)

The epic series Promised Land debuted on ABC in the early days of 2022 and tells the (fictional) story of the ongoing battle for control of the only Latinx owned winery in California's Sonoma Valley, with the hook being that the show jumps back and forth between the past and the present. The main family which we follow is the Sandoval Family, headed by Joe (John Ortiz) and Lettie (Cecilia Suárez), who are struggling in King Lear fashion to determine which of their offspring will inherit their vineyard and wine making empire. The oldest daughter Veronica (Christina Ochoa) seems like the most logical choice, especially since she's spent the last few years running the business alongside her father. Joe and Lettie's oldest son Antonio (Tonatiuh) is persona non grata in the family since coming out to his father, while younger daughter Carmen (Mariel Molino) and the baby of the family Junior (Miguel Angel Garcia) also seem to be dark horse candidates. Then there's hotel magnate and long time family friend Margaret Honeycroft (Bellamy Young) who has a vested interest in taking over, not to mention sisters Juana (Katya Martin) and Rosa (Ariana Guerra) who cross the border illegally to attempt to make a claim on the property. That's a lot of players moving around the board, though since this is a network television show, there's not going to be much in the way of nudity! There are sexy scenes in the first few episodes from Mariel Molino—playing the younger version of Veronica—and Abbie Gayle, playing the younger version of Margaret—but some tasteful cleavage and underwear shots are about all that's Promised in this Land!
