Girl on the Bridge (1999)

Shot in pristine black and white, the French comedic drama Girl on the Bridge (1999) features the mother of Johnny Depp’s babies, Vanessa Paradis, as Adèle, a woman who joins up with a traveling knife thrower named Gabor (Daniel Auteuil) after he saves her from drowning by jumping off a bridge. As long as Adèle and Gabor are together, they have good fortune, making money from gambling, but when Adèle leaves the knife thrower and elopes with another man, her own life, as well as Gabor’s, falls apart quickly.
