Fantasy Island (2020)

In a world where everything from Sherlock Holmes to Charlie's Angels has gotten a gritty 21st century reboot, why not give the classic 70s camp classic Fantasy Island the grit it so desperately needed (apparently) with Blumhouse's Fantasy Island (2020)! Instead of the alluringly sexy Ricardo Montalban and his sidekick Hervé Villechaize, this time around we get Mr. Roarke flying solo, played by the likable Michael Peña, as a thoroughly malevolent force of nature. For this iteration, a group of people win a contest that takes them to Fantasy Island to live out their deepest and darkest fantasies in an ultra-realistic way. How ultra-realistic? Well, the line between reality and... dare we say it... fantasy is blurred from the very beginning. One of the guests, Melanie (Lucy Hale) dreams of getting revenge on her childhood bully (Portia Doubleday), but when she finds her being tortured in a room at the estate, she discovers that her fantasies are becoming reality! Is there a way out? Let's hope so for both of their sake, as well as Maggie Q, who hopes for the chance to accept a marriage proposal she turned down some years ago! Maggie fulfills our fantasies by showing off her amazing body in a sexy bikini! There's also plenty of cleavage-y sexiness from Charlotte McKinney as a dream girl in another guest's fantasy! This sounds like our kind of place, you know, minus the torturing and kidnapping thing. Mostly the babes in bikinis thing. We could try a different island for that sort of thing.
