Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)

Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) is an over three-hour sequel to James Cameron's 2009 blockbuster, that cost well over 300 million dollars to make but made over two billion bucks at the box office. That's way more than any other movie made in 2022! With Cameron at the helm once more, the sequel picks up essentially where the first film left off. Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully is living on Pandora, having abandoned his handicapped human form to be a full-time Na’vi, but now he has three children with Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri. They are also the guardians of Kiri, the daughter of Sigourney Weaver’s Dr. Augustine, who’s also played by Sigourney. Their family must flee when more “sky people” from Earth show up in their Na’vi avatars, headed by a vengeful Na’vi version of Stephen Lang’s Colonel Quaritch. They end up taking refuge underwater, aided by a water tribe called the Metkayina. The tribe’s leaders are new characters Tonowari (Cliff Curtis) and his partner, Ronal (Kate Winslet), whose children don’t mix well with the Sully brood at first, but eventually the two family’s bond as the forest-dwelling Na’vi learn about the ways of the reef people and all the beauty that lives under the sea. But of course, the Navy isn't going to let the Na'vi hide out underwater, so soon enough the humans are attacking the Na'vi and the Metkayina on the high seas! Speaking of beauty, Sigourney’s bare blue Na’vi nips as her pregnant avatar gestates in a water tank are truly a sight to behold! Talk about technology at its finest! This one would've been nominated for even more Oscars if it had even more CGI-candy like that! If blue people cure your blue balls, you'll be covered in liquid watching Avatar: The Way of Water!
